WANT TO SAVE THE TIME IT TAKES TO WATER YOUR ANIMALS EVERY DAY?

INTERESTED IN THE BEST DRINKING SYSTEM ON THE MARKET?

AUTOMATIC DRINKING SYSTEMS

What is an automatic drinking system?
Basically its a means of supplying water to a number of cages using a supply tank and small bore tubing ending in a drinking nipple at each cage, the drinking nipple is operated in exactly the same way as a conventional pet drinking bottle, the animal licks it and water seeps out.

There are many different systems available on the market most of which have been designed for rabbits where slight leaks do not cause problems.
Our system has been designed for chinchillas, but will of course suit all other small livestock, and is indeed used by most  of the larger UK breeders for rabbits, cavies, rats, gerbils and hamsters. Chinchillas do best in a dry atmosphere so the system has been designed to be as leak free and easy to maintain as possible.

A drinking system is a practical proposition if you have ten or more cages to supply, it can actually work out cheaper than water bottles over a period of time as water bottles are easily damaged, but its great advantage is as a time saver, it takes only minutes to fill a supply tank that can easily supply 0ver 100 chinchillas a day.
SUPPLY TANKS
Supply tanks vary from one system to another, we recommend 5 litre and 10 litre supply tanks, a 10 litre supply tank will easily keep 100 chinchillas in water for two days, we advise using a supply tank fitted with a tank adaptor incorporating an auto cut-off valve, this prevents water leaking out of the tank when it is disconnected, its then a simple job to take the tank to your nearest tap for refilling.
Supply tanks can be sterilized every three months or so using a babies bottle sterilizing solution.
TUBING
Tubing used for drinking systems should be black in colour, this prevents the penetration of daylight which would cause an algae to grow on the insides of the tubing. Black tubing is almost maintenance free as it works in a similar way to the copper tubing supplying cold water in your home, this is of course never cleaned out, you can if you wish run vanodine through the system occasionally.
DRINKING NIPPLES
These can be easily dismantled and cleaned occasionally, new seals are very cheap and can be fitted every few years.

The above will give an idea of how to assemble the system, cable clips can be used to hold the tubing on to wood framed cages (rabbit hutches) All wire cages require a different approach (see below)

The drinking nipples are fitted to the cage using special clips (see below).
