.
Welcome to my chinchilla website, whether you are an existing chinchilla owner or just a potential future pet owner I`m sure you will find plenty to interest you here and if you have any questions that you would like me to try to answer just email or telephone and I`ll do my best to help.
As you can see from the above table chinchillas are available in quite a large selection of colours, the above shows the most common ones but there are many combinations of these colours which are different colours again. The most common colour and very popular is the standard or grey chinchilla, this is the colour we breed to maintain quality in the chinchilla. The other colours are known as mutations, not because there is anything wrong with them but because they originated from a gene mutation in the standard grey.Matings of different combinations of standard and mutations can produce different colours than the parents so it is as well to give some thought to what colours you would like to produce. Mating a Brown Velvet to a Wilson White gives eight different colour combinations in the offspring! I am always pleased to offer advice on the best way to produce your favourite colour.

Quality of stock is another point to bear in mind, even if you are not interested in exhibiting your animals it costs not a great deal more to start with higher quality stock than the pet animals usually offered.  All our chinchillas are bred from top quality show animals.

Breeding method is another consideration. Chinchillas can be bred as pairs in individual cages or using a 'polygamous' system, where one male can be mated with two or more females. Different types of cages are used for this system so, again, we will be pleased to advise. So whether you want to breed for high quality or to produce as many different colours as possible I will be pleased to advise on the best way of doing this.

When contemplating keeping any new pet it makes sense to 'read up' as much as possible beforehand you will see my recommended reading in the following lists.

All our chinchillas are given a full health check prior to sale, and new owners are given a quick reference leaflet detailing basic care.

Our telephone helpline is always available for any problems the new chinchilla owner may face. Chinchillas are relatively easy to keep provided a few basic guidelines are followed regarding their health and diet.

As you will see from the following lists we supply a large range of cages, eight different standard sizes, we can also manufacture any size to suit your requirements, if you need a cage to fit a particular alcove ask us to quote, you will be pleasantly surprised at how competitive we are. If you like to make your own cages we can supply all you need to do so, from cage trays, again made to measure if required, to 'C' clips and pliers, and of course the best advice available.
